Our primary mission is in theatre education. We offer a variety of classes to the public from ages 5 to adult. Visit our Theatre Store page for details on current offerings.
We also work extensively within Anchorage-area schools with classes designed to enhance each teacher's curriculum. Educators, visit our page For Teachers and use theatre to energize your classroom.

Anchorage Folk Fest (647)
Each January, the Anchorage Folk Festival features performances by more than 120 acts from throughout Alaska and around the world.
Singers, dancers, storytellers, and a variety of groups perform traditional and original material in styles ranging from folk to Celtic, bluegrass, jazz, klezmer and more. Guest artists from outside bring outstanding performances, workshops, and dances.
The concerts and workshops are open to the public and are FREE.

Scared Scriptless (547)
Scared Scriptless is a comedy improv troupe (ir)regularly performing in Anchorage Alaska since August 2000. We perform the second Saturday of every month at Cyrano's Playhouse.
Music Programs
Anchorage Concert Association (280)
The Anchorage Concert Association, a non-profit corporation, was founded in 1950 by a group of classical music enthusiasts committed to bringing the finest classical performing artists of the day to perform for the people of Anchorage. Today, our purpose includes the presentation of internationally acclaimed artists from the entire spectrum of the performing arts to Alaska for public performances and education activities that entertain, uplift, educate and inspire audiences, students and local artists.
Anchorage Concert Chorus (365)
A non-profit organization, A.C.C is dedicated to bringing great music to the state of Alaska. The chorus began in 1946 and is currently home to about 160 volunteer singers, under the direction of Grant Cochran. The Chorus continues to encourage young musicians by providing scholarships to local high school and college students through the annual vocal competition, donating concert tickets to local elementary and secondary schools, and by providing scholarship funding to the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and to the Alaska Children's Choir.

3 Barons Renaissance Fair (689)
The Three Barons Renaissance Fair, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation founded to promote the arts in a unique environment in the Anchorage, Alaska area. We are a community based organization whose goal is to provide a place for artists and craftspeople of all sorts to show their skills, talents, and products to the populace at large. Our mission is to continue to provide this venue and to expand it wherever possible. We are an inclusive organization and encourage community attendance and participation.
Anchorage Opera (311)
Incorporated in 1962, Anchorage Opera has evolved from an all-volunteer community organization to its present status as Alaska's only professional opera company.
Anchorage Opera produces three operas each year in the Discovery Theatre of the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. Here, an audience of 10,000 has the opportunity to hear the world's greatest operas, performed by world-class guest singers in collaboration with Alaska's talented performers, orchestra, designers, and craftspeople. The company also produces the “Dark Night Recital Series”, designed to showcase the talents of local musician artists.
Cyrano's Theatre Company (586)
Eccentric Theatre Company (ETC) is the resident company at Cyrano's Off Center Playhouse in Anchorage, Alaska. It was formed in 1995 by a loose-knit group of volunteers committed to producing professional quality dramatic works utilizing Alaskan talent.
This nurturing of regional talent is one of our most important goals. We've employed actors and technicians from Juneau to Fairbanks, and have made extensive use of UAA Theatre Department graduates. In this respect, we have been a bridge or transition point from academic theatre to professional careers.
Out North Theatre (324)
Out North exists to develop and present bold new work that challenges and changes the art, the artist, and the audience. We encourage artistic risk-taking and collaboration, examining today's world through diverse cultural perspectives, and creating community through the arts.
Three Wise Monkeys (448)
Three Wise Monkeys Theatre Company, started in 2001 by Dawson Moore, Richard Bernier and Aoise Stratford, is a not for profit company dedicated to supporting, promoting and producing the best work by upcoming and local writers of all demographics, with an emphasis on youth, language, and theatricality.
Three Wise Monkeys currently has two annual festivals slated: BOA (Bay One-acts) and the Short Leaps Ten Minute Play Marathon. In addition, Three Wise Monkeys is set to produce a small number of full-length plays each year, mostly by local Bay-area writers. We are also introducing a new short plays program called Overnighters, which will be run both here in the Bay Area and in other states, using the resident talent pool in each place as a way of nurturing local theatre in other communities.
Alaska Dance Theatre offers professional education to the whole dancer. For 20 years, Alice Bassler Sullivan's artistic direction has provided stability in all facets of the Company. Sullivan has established a school firmly grounded in classical ballet, also offering classes in Pre-ballet, Pointe, Jazz, and company repertory. Additional classes in Creative Dance are specially designed for all people, regardless of dance experience or ability.
Alaska Junior Theatre (495)
Alaska Junior Theater presents live, professional theater for young audiences across the state of Alaska. AJT has delighted students over the last 20 years with shows of music, mime, marionettes, plays and other live performances. Our rural outreach program has also taken shows to communities around the state, including Barrow, Bethel, Nome, Kotzebue, Atqasuk and Kenai, and additional students from Talkeetna to Valdez have participated in performance workshops presented by our visiting artists.
Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy (323)
Established in 1997 to preserve & propagate the art of classical dance while providing professional instruction to aspiring professionals and recreational dancers of all ages in Anchorage and beyond.
Anchorage Community Theatre (656)
Anchorage Community Theatre is a non-profit community theatre dedicated to the mission of bringing quality, family entertainment to the community of Anchorage. We are not only Anchorage's senior theatre company, but also provide opportunities for children and adults through our programs: the main stage ACT productions, and our Theatre School.
Broadway Kidz! (380)
The mission of Broadway Kidz! is to help 6 to 18 year old performers develop their theatre performance, stage presence, choreography, vocal presence and vocal production skills, with attention to mastering the interactions of theatrical dance with stylistically correct vocal production.
Last Frontier Theatre Conference (510)
Held in Valdez every summer, sponsored by Prince William Sound Community College, this conference brings together some of the finest playwrights in the country to explore new works. TBA Theatre staff have become regular participants, earning high esteem as readers & event assistants.
Perseverance Theatre (324)
Founded in 1979 by Molly Smith in Juneau, Perseverance Theatre is committed to mining Alaska's unique cultural character to produce the finest theatre our state has to offer. The diversity of Alaska is remarkable, with over 55 different languages and dialects, and our goal is to embrace this multiplicity of artists and audiences and explore classic plays and new works through a unique 'Alaskan lens.' We also work with a rising generation of national and international theatre artists of the highest caliver. We believe this kind of cultural diversity spurs us on to the production of our best work. Our values are rooted in community, revelation, and rigor.
West High Theatre (563)
West Theatre is filled with some of the most energetic student performers in the State of Alaska. Each year they offer a full season of performances, from musicals to Shakespeare, before Alaskan audiences in the State's second largest performance space.

Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (341)
With three theatres – the Evangeline Atwood Concert Hall with 2100 seats, the Discovery Theatre with 700 seats, and the Sydney Laurence Theatre with 350 seats – and eight resident companies, variety abounds at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts!
APU Grant Hall (662)
The E.R. Brown Auditorium offers an intimate 250-seat setting for presentations. This room is designed for musical and theatrical performances but also has been used for church meetings, product demonstrations and public forums.
Wendy Williamson Auditorium (368)
The Wendy Williamson Auditorium, named after a prominent Anchorage musician ("Windy" Wendy) is located on the west end of the UAA campus.
Trivia fact: Mr. Williamson taught the webmaster's mother to play accordian. It's true!
